If it's okay with you / the AIS board, I'd like to make a blog post on the AIS Blog with the writeup for this (once it's been patched).
Taking on your challenge has been infinitely more interesting than any CTF could be - after all, no CTF is running on a machine cluster with a dozen GPUs attached!

Here are some projects I've written for the club:

• cherf: A tool for "perforating" NAT tables. See here for a potential usecase example.
• stats.ais-ucla.org: Some pretty graphs showing cluster usage. The source code for the website is here and the code for data collection is here.
